HomePod Ad – For Music Lovers

Another week, another Apple ad. Frankly, I’ve been disappointed; the latest iPhone commercials have been pitiful. But, a recent HomePod ad has given me back my love of Apple Advertising! Now, this is certainly a longer advertisement, almost a music video unto itself, but worth the watch!

Selling HomePods With Emotion

On the surface, this appears cliche; sad girl, plays music, sad girl happy now. Furthermore, on the surface, it seems a nonsensical way to sell a product, where is the product info? What does this thing do? What are the specs? Cost?

Well, THAT is the beauty of this ad.

THAT is the beauty of all GOOD Apple ads.

Apple, instead of hitting you with specs and technical stuff, hits you with the emotions, or the emotional potential of the product they are selling. The same thing they did with “Memories” (That STILL makes me tear up), they have an uncanny way of making you feel through their ads.. an emotion that is at the root of the product or feature they are showing you.

So, though it’s cliche, sad girl gets happy listening to music, tell me as a music lover you don’t let your imagination run while listening to music! Now, some of you like my good friend the Music Omnivore couldn’t get past the music selection, but admitted to having “weird visions in my brain like that when I listen to certain songs”.

We all like to envision our own little music video world… and the world of the beautiful and quirky F.K. Twigs is truly something to behold. Directed by Spike Jonze and scored via Anderson .Paak, this is a visual and auditory treat. And most importantly, conveys the emotional potential possible with the HomePod; a compact speaker that is blowing the minds of even hardcore audiophiles. If you truly love music, this is a great product!

HomePod advertisement

DON’T compare this to an Amazon Echo or Google Dot… It’s not a Voice Assistant!

This ad is a hell of a sight better than this crap…
