Apple Repair Programs – iPhone 11 Screen & AirPods Sound

Apple recently announced a couple new repair programs to address problems with the iPhone 11 screens.

iPhone 11 Repair Programs

On December 4th, 2020 Apple announced a program to repair a small number of iPhone 11 screens with touch issues. iPhone 11 models manufactured between November 2019 and May 2020 may experience an issue where the screen stops responding to touch. This problem reportedly doesn’t cover the iPhone 11 Pro, or iPhone 11 Pro Max. 

It may be an idea to check if your phone is eligible, and proactively have it taken care of before you wake up to your phone giving you a No Touchy.

To check your eligibility, you need the serial number, you can get that a number of ways. 

  • Open the Settings app on the iPhone 11, choose General, then choose About
  • Check the iPhone 11’s original packaging, receipt, or invoice
  • Plug the iPhone 11 into your computer and check via Finder/Music

Once you have that, head over to their Repair Program article and type the serial number into the provided field.. click here. The program will cover issues for up to two years from the original purchase date. In order to get your screen fixed, you’ll have to wander into an Apple store near you, 

As per usual, Apple will refuse to service your phone if your screen is busted or your phone has any other physical damage, so just keep that in mind. 

AirPods Pro Sounds Issues

You probably bought the AirPods Pro for their superior audio quality, so I’m sure you were disappointed if you hear popping or crackling not artificially inserted by the artist. If your AirPods Pro were manufactured before October 2020, Apple may replace them for free if you experience the following issues:

  • Crackling or static sounds that increase in loud environments, with exercise or while talking on the phone
  • Active Noise Cancellation not working as expected, such as a loss of bass sound, or an increase in background sounds, such as street or airplane noise

Apple may replace the left, right or both under this program. Same as the iPhone 11 screen program, Apple will take care of you for up to two years. To take advantage of the program, same as above…

Conclusion
