Bloody well.. but that was expected.. as it is of all Apple products. The tests are in.. and it handily beat out the Microsoft Surface Pro 4.. and in an odd turn of events.. the iPad Pro is $100 cheaper. To be fair.. the iPad Air 2 matched the entry level Surface Pro for $400 less… so there’s that. To be fair though.. you can spend another $500 and get a Surface Pro that beats an iPad Pro. Why have I not compared the iPad Pro to Android tablets? Well.. the simply isn’t anything that can come near…

For creatives the Apple Pencil (If you can get it.. 4-6 weeks backorder currently) offers faster response then the Surface Pro stylus. Be sure to check out programs like Astropad, which turns your iPad Pro into a graphics tablet for use in apps like Photoshop. Umake is a incredible 3D modelling app, and the good old stand by Paper all make use of the Apple Pencil.
iPad Pro Has Some Bonuses
And despite it being abhorently permanently handcuffed to the logic board, the Lighting Port is reported to be ready for USB 3.0 protocols.. super fast transfers and I’m thinking a wider range of accessories being a possibility.
Will it replace your laptop? The iPad replaced my need for a laptop 4 years ago…. but I have a beast of a desktop for my graphics and video work.
If you are in the market for a new iPad OR MacBook.. the iPad Pro is certainly worth the money! Be sure to have some fun on it with The Room 3 and Badlands as well!
