Apple is known for its world-renowned design, and since 2006, it’s also been known for its incredible architecture as well. Now, it’s time to check out Apple Marina Bay Sands, another shockingly cool concept of retail space.
Apple Marina Bay Sands – The HomePod Max?
I’m joking, joking.. but am I? I mean Apple does have a tendency to design their buildings after their products, don’t believe me?
So Apple is continuing in a proud tradition with the amazing new Marina Bay Sands store, a very unique floating orb in the Marina Bay of Singapore. I mean, just look at this thing!
The sphere is an all-glass dome structure that is fully self-supported, comprised of 114 pieces of glass with only 10 narrow vertical mullions for structural connection. A flooding ray of light shines through a Pantheon inspired Oculus at the very top of the dome. The baffles the line the interior are shaped to direct sunlight and provide nighttime lighting effects. Singapore is known for its beautiful greenery, and the trees that line the outer edge of the dome bring that inside.
Customers have two ways of gaining access, via a walkway off the waterfront that takes you directing into the jaw-dropping dome, and a tunnel-like entrance from a mall on the waterfront. This long hallway, lined with product leads to an escalator that leads you into the dome.
The Apple Marina Bay Sands store has an employee force of 150 individuals that speak 23 different languages. This is a must-visit building if you are heading to Marina Bay Sands area or Singapore in general! If not for the Apple products, the amazing 360-degree view.
