Our iOS Tip for this week deals with frustration. Yes, our iOS devices are brilliant at memory management, but us folks in the trenches know that after a good while and with lots of apps open, our devices just slow the hell down. Things can crash, things get slow.. just need to smack it around a bit.
One way around this is to do simple restart.. just turn it off and back on again.. the universal “fix” for everything. The phone will reboot and life continues! Alternatively, you can try to quit all open apps using the multitasking menu, but there is a more sure-fire method to give it a slap upside the head.
Flushing RAM
When you have an app loaded, it uses up a bit of available memory.. enough of them can start causing issues. You can “flush” this memory by holding down the power button until the familiar “Slide to power off” appears. But, instead of swiping.. hold down the home button until it goes away and back to your home screen.
This will have cleared the RAM and hopefully make your iPad or iPhone easier to get along with!
Other then that, I hear a reprogramming with a large axe does the trick.. then you can have The Stem fix it for you!
