Retro-Modern: New & Making New Again!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.. and so is taste. Personally I think this custom designed iMac from Colorware with it’s funkadelic retro scheme is very cool! A colour scheme that harkens back to the original Macintosh, ribbing, beige and rainbow Apple logo all make for a satisfying parallel universe what-if situation.

You can order and customize your s at here.

This is art, and granted the labour involved in prepping one of these units for their painting process is time consuming.. but be prepared to hand over at least $5,000 for one of these beauties. Unfortunately the MacBook Air version is completely sold out as of this posting.

Those gib stickers are nice… but this is just… wow.

Making Retro Shine Again

Perhaps you are not in the market for a retro piece of art and and instead prefer the real deal. A very smart group of people figured that our old computers and game consoles are yellowing over time due to the fire retardant chemicals in the plastics. Using the power of chemistry, they have produced a simple mixture that restores the plastics to their former glory! I have a few machines I may want to try this out on, if you are interested in trying it yourself, check out the Retr0bright project!

The power of SCIENCE!

And don’t forget, your old machine may still have some life in it. A new hard drive, RAM or even just a clean up can go a long way! Come into the Stem and see what we can do for you!
