But for the love of God STOP HOARDING TOILET PAPER!
Coronavirus Scare Causing Proper Hygiene Practices
In spite of everyone running for masks and such, it turns out the best defence against viruses in general is good old fashioned hygiene! Whodathunk?? And as most of you know, the devices we use each and ever day can get pretty horrifyingly nasty. It’s been shown that COVID-19 can remain infectious on surfaces up to 9 bloody days!
How we clean them is important, as the range of materials they use in manufacturing can react differently to various cleaning solutions. For instance, the oleophobic coatings on the screen can be damaged by too high concentrations of isopropyl.
Apples Official Cleaning Tips
Apple has specific cleaning tips for your product…
- Unplug all cables and turn off your iPhone.
- Use a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth — for example, a lens cloth.
- If material is still present, use a soft, lint-free cloth with warm soapy water. (iPhone 11 and 11 Pro only for soap)
- Avoid getting moisture in openings.
- Don’t use cleaning products or compressed air.
With the recent virus scare, it’s been updated with a note…
Is it OK to use a disinfectant on my Apple product? Using a 70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipe or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes, you may gently wipe the hard, nonporous surfaces of your Apple product, such as the display, keyboard, or other exterior surfaces. Don’t use bleach. Avoid getting moisture in any opening, and don’t submerge your Apple product in any cleaning agents. Don’t use on fabric or leather surfaces.
Since those products have been proven to destroy the virus on contact, might be an idea to use them on your phone and such, especially if you are using it in crowded areas. If you are just going to use the straight up isopropyl, just be sure to check the concentration. You can pick up these wipes pretty much anywhere… though with the way orders are doing their thing, it may be more difficult! How they don’t understand heard immunity, I don’t know… EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE CLEAN!
A great idea would be to invest in a screen protector, the tempered glass type. That way, you can clean the tempered glass surface without having to worry about damaging your iPhone screen coatings. If you REALLY want to go all out, try out this bad boy…
PhoneSoap is the company that produces this sure shot, a full UV bath for your phone! This will most certainly kill off any badies lingering on your device. And don’t forget, we will happily help clean your product for you, contact us!
Stay clean out there, don’t panic, and don’t forget to wash your hands often! This may help…
